Find out how this cast of characters has come together and more about the overall mission on the Pilot episode of "Haole Do It!"
Adam learns a bit about the significance of music in Hawai'i and gets a lesson in why you should avoid being "mahaoi" and "niele" in certain situations.
We take a look at what exactly an "imu" is, the importance of Waipio Valley, and new bonds and friendships are made as the community comes together to eat and kanikapila!
The guys take Adam fishing and teach him a few tricks of the trade. Unfortunately no one told him the #1 rule of fishing in Hawai'i, and the results are bananas!
Hula is synonymous with Hawai'i and Adam not only gets to dig deeper into the subject, he also gets to take lessons and dance in his first hula performance!
Waimea is considered a cowboy (paniolo) town, so it only makes sense for Adam to get to know a few renowned paniolos and learn about the rugged lifestyle that helped shape this town.
Adam gets his hands dirty, literally, as he takes a closer look at the growing need to plant local food plants for local folks, while also learning how Hawaiians have managed farming for thousands of years.
The art of Kapa is a beautiful and meticulous practice that provides Hawaiians with clothes, fabric and additional resources. Adam is blessed to learn the process from one of the greats.
The land, or 'āina, is everything in Hawai'i. And Adam is here to get involved and learn how he can best take care (malama) this place that has provided him with so much.
The first of many subjects to be revisited in "Haole Do It", Adam heads to the ranch to live a day in the life of a Hawaiian Cowboy and experience the rugged lifestyle that helped shape the town he now calls home.
The voyaging canoe is a symbol of strength, courage, adventure, community and so much more. And Adam has the privilege of setting sail on one canoe before "joining the crew" on another to help maintain one of Hawai'i's most iconic vessels..
In the season 2 finale of "Haole Do It", Adam commits his life to not only his wife, but Hawai'i as well.
Join Adam and the guys as they kick off this latest season by heading out on a holoholo to connect with nature and set their intentions for "Haole Do It!"
Adam heads back to school to begin his journey into better understanding a fundamental part of any culture... language!
This episode features a Hawaiian art form that dates back to the 1800's and showcases the elegance and craftsmanship of the paniolas, as well as the work being done to keep the tradition alive. And it wouldn't be "Haole Do It" if Adam didn't get his hands dirty.
In part one of "'Ōlelo Hawai'i," Adam visited the classroom to begin his journey into better understanding the Hawaiian language. And in part 2 we showcase several ways to learn a new language outside of the classroom, ranging from outdoor activities and cooking to a holo holo & music!
Welcome to the season three finale where Adam dives deep into a few Hawaiian traditions surrounding the birth of a first child. From feeding his son Poi as his first solid food, to the one year baby luau, this episode is full of culture and emotion, as well as a few good laughs. Mahalo for joining us through season three of "Haole Do It," a hui hou!
Stay tuned!
